New shipment in

Another shipment of tribal carpets has arrived from Iran. Unbelievingly, and much to my agent’s shock, they cleared customs in a day!

This shipment features some old Qashqai / Shirazi and Luri carpets in various sizes, Yalameh carpets and Balouch prayer rugs, new wool & silk carpets from Sarakhs and Quchan, Kurdish kapan kilims (the Kurds of Khorassan region’s horse blankets), and various small kilim bags.

I’m also off to Iran later this month for the annual Tehran Carpet Exhibition, which is the main Persian carpet event each year. Hopefully, the event won’t be too impacted by political events in the region! This is a really good opportunity to inspect the wares of all the major Iranian carpet producers, as they will all be there.

I’ll also be popping down to Isfahan to sort out my next order. If you have items you specifically would like me to look out for, let me know before the 23rd of August.
